XMAT Adds Generative AI Models and AI Post-Editing

November 14, 2025

Kawamura International has released a new version of XMAT (pronounced TransMAT), its cloud-based machine-assisted translation platform. The update adds support for OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and Amazon Nova models. In addition to translation, these generative AI models can handle the following tasks:

  • Grammatical correction
Automatically corrects grammatical and typographical errors.

  • Summarizing
Quickly summarizes long passages and complex reports.

  • Copywriting
Generates taglines and content for marketing and advertising materials.

  • Press releases
Drafts press releases to announce new products or services.

  • Japanese style unification
Converts Japanese text to either the polite desu/masu style (keitai) or the plain dearu style (jotai).

  • Custom instructions
Enter any instructions in free-form text.

The release also introduces a new AI post-editing function, which uses generative AI to automatically correct and refine translated text. It streamlines traditional post-editing, reduces labor hours, and improves translation quality.
